ABOUT THIS CAR

Restored in the late 1990s, this XK150 is accompanied by an extensive history file documenting considerable maintenance and improvement over subsequent years, with much of the work carried out by Jaguar specialists Twyford Moors.

The car has been sympathetically upgraded for regular use, including EZ power steering, electronic ignition, alternator and negative-earth conversion, electronic fuel pump, re-cored radiator with electric cooling fan, Spax adjustable dampers, uprated anti-roll bar, poly-bushed suspension and a stainless-steel exhaust. Further additions include inertia-reel seatbelts, upgraded wipers, LED rear indicators and a Moto-Lita steering wheel, with the original retained.

Mechanical expenditure has been similarly comprehensive, including a replacement diaphragm clutch, balanced and lightened flywheel, brake servo and rear cylinders, hubs, ball joints, propshaft universal joint and ongoing attention to the carburettors, fuel and cooling systems.

Most recently, a major service in December 2025 included replacement front and rear hubs, new/refurbished ball joints, a new clutch cylinder, propshaft universal joint, fresh brake fluid and further electrical work. Uprated front brake calipers followed in April 2026.

I have covered more than 300 miles in the car and found it particularly enjoyable to drive. It feels well suited to B-roads, while remaining comfortable and relaxed at motorway speeds. The various upgrades make it straightforward to use without detracting from the character and sense of occasion expected of an XK150.
