A wonderful example of Alfa Romeo’s famous ‘Boat Tail’, ‘Duetto’, or ‘Osso di seppia’.

1 of 601 original RHD examples, delivered new to Australia in March 1969.

Acquired by the current owner in 2012 (just the third owner from new!), and soon imported into the UK.

Finished in its original specification of Rosso Farina over Black Leather, the car was subject to a full ‘nut-and-bolt’ restoration by RetroMarques between 2014-2018.

The engine was replaced with a non-matching numbers but period correct 1750cc block (late 1968 serial number) sourced from Classic Alfa.

Having covered fewer than 750kms since the restoration, the car presents today in essentially ‘as new’ condition.

WHAT WE THINK

What is there to say really – this Duetto is about as good as it gets.

The engine fires into life almost on the first turn of the starter motor, and settles straight into a gorgeous twin-cam idle.
